Terrain Biennial 2023: Mycelium Connection

I had the honor of leading this year’s Terrain Biennial alongside my co-chair, Stevie Hanley.

This year’s theme, Mycelium Connection, was chosen to honor and expand Terrain’s mission of creating unexpected yet essential human and environmental connections. Mycelium, a thriving underground network of fungal threads, is crucial to many natural ecosystems. Although it spans vast geographical areas, it remains mostly invisible, subtly emerging from the most unexpected places. This year, we explored questions about what and who has been overlooked and why.

Check out the projects showcased across the globe here.
